This exciting release is the third in a five part series from Springbank, focusing on the influence of different sherry casks on their spirit. Matured for 5 years in ex-bourbon before a final 5 years in ex-Amontillado sherry casks, there is an earthy mustiness on the nose with hazelnut, maraschino cherries and blood orange. On the palate, a contrasting cured meat salty/savoury note, with gorse and tobacco joining coconut and treacle. Finishing with touches of tarragon and wood shavings.
